CNN’s footage of slave markets in Libya disturbed and outraged the world, as it should. It’s an image we all want to be in the past. But while underground, slavery and slave auctions still exist. Migrations flows and trafficking in Libya are nothing new, though continued conflict in a failed state has greatly exacerbated the situation.
