Down the memory hole: White House purges all Bush-era Twitter posts
Why not? Nothing existed before the dawn of Hopenchange. Except, of course, for the stuff we need to prosecute people for. Oh, and stuff Obama can use to shift blame whenever he wants to remind people that he inherited a problem from the previous administration.
Why is there even a "White House" Twitter account?
It seems to me Twitter should be more ... personal thing, i.e. something tied to a person. It's not press release, and it couldn't be attributed to an organization whose controlling body changes (or at least it could, in theory) every 4 years. It seems to me there should be, if anything, "Pres. Bush" account, "Pres. Obama" account, and so on.
Highlight their offices if you want, but separate accounts for each office-holder, so something like this, where the newcomer can wipe the records of its predecessor, could not just happen.
