Everybody Lay off Janeane!

Here’s my point: I sense a little misplaced anger over her comments about the tea parties. It strikes me as a Captain Renault-like expression of shock. In order to take great offense at what she said we have to ignore the fact that the very same thing is said, in more subtle ways, every day. The left never stops accusing the right of racism.
"But everyone else was speeding too, why are you ticketing just me?"
Just because everyone else on the left is a lying hypocritical bastard doesn't mean we have to take it lying down when we hear such blatant lie and slander.
Yes, sure, she has the right to air her voice. But guess what? Rights come with responsibilities. Free speech comes with consequences, if your opinion turns out to be horribly uninformed and unpopular. We will defend your right to say it, but once you have said it, we will disagree with it. Even viciously.
The left, with its control over our culture and media, slandered patriots and brave men and women of America for decades (namely, ever since the McCarthy era, not that McCarthy era was any good, but at least we were honest about there being communist sympathizers in the American media). It must stop at some point, and that point should be now.
