Well, that does sound more reasonable, especially considering that the other rate is given per 1,000 women of child-bearing age, and the rates are comparable.

Even so, abortion rate is still higher than infant mortality rate, so a pattern in who aborts their babies and who doesn't will affect the trustworthiness of infant mortality rate as an indicator of health care system for the young.

This is an error:

"Given that abortion rate far outstrips any infant mortality rate (in North America, 26 children are aborted per 100 known pregnancies!)"

Should be 26 per 1000, not 100!

And it looks like we are not just alienating allies in Americas. Either through neglect or willful "snub", we are neglecting our allies in the old Eastern Bloc.

Day by day, Bush looks like a uniter compared to Obama.

Hot Air adds Wal-Mart, CVS, and Best Buy to the list. I am hugely disappointed that Wal-Mart is on this list. I guess they are not good capitalists any more. Good thing I didn't buy any of their stock.

Andie Brownlow couldn't have put it better at American Thinker:

This health care debate is the perfect place to make an ideological stand. We shouldn't invest ourselves entirely in a debate over the legislation, but should direct our efforts more broadly to question its intent. The health care bill must be defeated and not negotiated. Congress will offer us everything we want and more, so long as a bill for socialized health care gets signed into law. There are no sacred cows in HR 3200; the only thing that matters to progressive elites is the precedent of its passage. They will eventually, patronizingly capitulate to our demands to change the bill. We will have been taken as fools who bought the snake oil because we won the haggle over price.
